The coded value chains

Cocoa, coffee, cotton and rubber: structuring, quality and access to premium markets. Basins: cocoa — Centre, South-West, Littoral, South, East; robusta coffee — Centre, South, Littoral; arabica — West, North-West; cotton — Far North and North; rubber — South-West and Littoral.

Maize, cassava, plantain and yam: food security and productivity. Basins: maize and sorghum — Far North, North, Adamawa; cassava and taro — Centre, South, East, Littoral; yam — North and Adamawa.

Vegetables: intensive production, cold chain and supply to urban markets. Basins: West (Foumbot, Dschang) and the outskirts of Yaoundé and Douala.

Pineapple, banana, mango and citrus: quality, packing and export. Basins: banana, plantain and pineapple — Littoral (Moungo, Njombé-Penja) and South-West; mango — Far North and North.

Oil palm, groundnut, soya and sesame: production and crushing. Basins: oil palm — South-West (Ndian, Meme), Littoral (Edéa), South (Kribi); groundnut — Far North, North, Adamawa.

Valorisation, traceability and processing into high-value products. Estimated basins: East, South and Centre, in the forest zone.

Seed production and certification; cuts across every crop chain. Estimated basins, low confidence: agricultural research centres in the Centre and North-West.

Cut flowers, ornamental plants and nurseries. Estimated basins: outskirts of Yaoundé, highlands of the West and North-West.

Broiler and layer farming: husbandry and biosecurity. Basins: peri-urban Yaoundé (Centre), Douala (Littoral) and Bafoussam (West).

Genetics, feed and market outlets. Basins: West and North-West (humid highland savannah), Centre forest zone.

Small ruminants: husbandry, meat and hide valorisation. Basins: Far North, North and Adamawa.

Fattening, dairies and cheese making. Basins: Adamawa (the historic basin, Goudali breed), Far North and North.

Managed-hive beekeeping: honey, wax and propolis. Distinct from wild forest honey (FF02). Estimated basins: Adamawa, West (Noun) and East.

Short-cycle rabbit farming. Estimated basins: peri-urban areas nationwide, and the West.

Horses, donkeys and mules: animal traction in the northern regions. Estimated basins: Far North and North.

Grasscutter farming and short-cycle game rearing. Estimated basins: East, South and Centre.

Giant African land snail (Achatina) farming: a niche export chain. Estimated basins: Centre, Littoral and South-West.

Fish farming: fingerling production, grow-out, processing and marketing. Found nationwide; notably West (Noun ponds), Centre and Littoral.

Marine capture fisheries: landing, quayside preservation and fish trading. Basins: Littoral (Douala), South-West (Limbe, Idenau) and South (Kribi).

Freshwater fishing — rivers, lakes and reservoirs. Estimated basins: Far North (Lake Chad, Logone), Adamawa (Lagdo) and East (Sangha).

Silviculture, logging, sawing and primary wood processing. Basins: East, South and Centre, across the dense forest massifs.

Harvesting from wild colonies, without managed hives — distinct from beekeeping (FA05). Estimated basins: Adamawa and East.

Njansang, moabi (oil), andok (wild mango) and other gathered products. Basins: East, South and Centre.

Wild mushrooms, caterpillars and other gathered forest insects. Basins: East, South and Centre.

Palm wine (« matango », Elaeis guineensis) and raphia wine: sap from natural stands, spontaneously fermented. Processed derivatives (odontol, vinegar) are excluded. Basins: Littoral, South-West, Centre and West.

Rattan, raphia (as a material), gum arabic and bark for medicinal or craft use. Basins: rattan — East and South; gum arabic — Far North and North.

Bamboo growing and processing: construction, furniture and craft. Estimated basins: West and North-West (Grassfields).

Agroforestry, reforestation, community management and carbon credits. Estimated basins: pilot projects in the East and Adamawa.
