Your activities

What you do

  • Operate mobile-payment and e-wallet services in rural areas
  • Secure payments from cooperatives, collectors and exporters to producers
  • Offer digital credit and savings built on transaction histories
  • Digitise transfers, collections and the payment of inputs
  • Integrate payments into value-chain management and traceability platforms
Your role in the value chain

You sit at the heart of the chain’s financial flows: you receive funds from buyers, cooperatives, banks and microfinance institutions and route them to producers, carriers and input suppliers. You give every actor a way to pay and be paid without cash and with a verifiable record. You secure seasonal payments, which are often exposed to the risks of moving banknotes, and you unlock access to digital credit through the transaction histories you build up for previously unbanked actors.

Where are you found?

Operators and fintechs are headquartered in Douala or Yaoundé and run agent networks nationwide, down to rural markets. Usage is particularly intense in the cocoa and coffee collection basins of the Centre, South and South-West, in the Western Highlands and along the trade corridors towards Nigeria and Chad.

Your place in the ecosystem

Why your business matters in Cameroon and Central Africa

Mobile money has become the first financial service within reach of rural households in Cameroon. For agropastoral value chains it transforms the relationship between producers and buyers: immediate payment for the harvest, lower cash-related risks, traceable flows. Fintechs that build services on these rails open the way to digital credit, savings and insurance for people without a bank account. In Central Africa, the gradual interoperability of payments within the CEMAC area eases regional trade in agricultural products and supports the financial inclusion of value-chain actors.
