Carbon, reforestation & ecosystem-service operators

You develop reforestation projects, carbon credits and payment schemes for the ecosystem services delivered by agricultural landscapes.

Definition in the architecture : Reforestation projects, carbon credits and payment for ecosystem services

Carbon, reforestation & ecosystem-service operators
Your activities

What you do

  • Design and implement reforestation and agroforestry projects
  • Develop carbon projects and guide them through certification under recognised standards
  • Measure and monitor carbon stocks, biodiversity and the services provided by ecosystems
  • Structure payment mechanisms that reward producers for sustainable practices
  • Carry out preliminary technical studies and ongoing project monitoring
Your role in the value chain

You work with producers, cooperatives, forest communities and agro-industrial companies that own or manage land. You deliver structured projects that turn forest conservation, agroforestry and soil restoration into additional income. You secure the sustainability of production landscapes, and you unlock for value chains an access to climate finance and to the markets that reward low-carbon and deforestation-free practices. Your projects give producers a reason to keep trees standing and soils alive while they continue to produce.

Where are you found?

These operators work mainly in the forest zone of the South, East and Centre, in the cocoa basins of the Centre and South-West, on the Western Highlands affected by soil degradation and in the savannah areas of Adamawa and the North. Their head offices are most often in Yaoundé and Douala.

Your place in the ecosystem

Why your business matters in Cameroon and Central Africa

Cameroon holds a significant share of the Congo Basin forests, and its agricultural landscapes sit at the centre of debates on deforestation linked to cocoa, palm oil and timber. Carbon and ecosystem-service operators bring solutions that reconcile production and conservation: agroforestry, restoration of degraded land, payments to communities for protecting forests. They help export chains meet the requirements of the EUDR and the climate commitments of buyers. They also open new income streams for producers while strengthening the resilience of farming systems in the face of climate change. Their role bridges environmental policy and the daily economics of farms.

What your directory profile should declare

The headings that project promoters, partners and institutions look at first. Fill them in with your real orders of magnitude: this is what makes your profile usable.

Types of projects run: reforestation, agroforestry, restoration, conservationCarbon certification standards mastered and projects already registeredAreas and communities covered by ongoing projectsSkills in measurement, reporting and verification of resultsAbility to structure revenue sharing with producers and communities
Networking challenges and opportunities
  • Helping cocoa, coffee and palm chains prove the absence of deforestation required by the EUDR
  • Ensuring the integrity of carbon projects and the transparency of revenues paid to communities
  • Cooperating with assessment firms and cooperatives to root projects in local territories
  • Accessing climate finance and credit buyers looking for credible projects in Central Africa
Why be listed

What the directory brings to your organisation

Your listing makes you visible to the cooperatives, plantations and communities seeking to derive value from their sustainable practices.

Access to partnership opportunities

You gain access to exporters, climate funders and carbon-credit buyers looking for robust projects in Central Africa.

Integration into the regional ecosystem

You take your place in the regional ecosystem as a sustainability partner for the chains that produce, process and export.

Join the XP-NOVA directory

Your listing in three steps

The directory is not a mere listing: each profile is positioned within the architecture (sub-domain, actor, value chain), checked by XP-NOVA, then published. You keep control of your profile after publication.

  1. The form

You enter your organisation, your position in the architecture — pre-filled from this page —, your value chains, your area of operation and your contact details. Your profile is created as pending and you receive your access.

  2. Verification by XP-NOVA

The XP-NOVA team reviews your profile: consistency of the position in the architecture, reality of the declared activity, completeness of the information. If there is a reservation, the reason is sent to you and you can complete.

  3. Validation and publication

Once validated, your profile is published in the directory available to members, under your actor code. You update it from your area: contact details, logo, capacities, description.
