Waste management & recovery operators

You collect and recover the effluents, waste and by-products of farms and factories and turn them into useful resources for the value chain.

Definition in the architecture : Collection and recovery of agricultural and livestock effluents and by-products

Waste management & recovery operators
Your activities

What you do

  • Collect livestock effluents, harvest residues and processing by-products
  • Produce compost, organic fertilisers and soil amendments from agricultural residues
  • Operate biogas and anaerobic digestion units fed with animal manure
  • Turn husks, cakes, bran and pulps into animal feed or fuel
  • Advise farms and factories on compliant management of their waste streams
Your role in the value chain

You receive from livestock farms, plantations, slaughterhouses, oil mills, hulling plants and processing units the materials they can neither store nor discharge without risk. In return you deliver a compliant management solution and, often, recovered products: organic fertilisers, animal feed, energy. You secure the environmental compliance of sites and the health of their surroundings, and you unlock a circular economy that reduces dependence on imported inputs and creates value from what used to be lost. Your work closes the loop between production and processing.

Where are you found?

These operators set up close to the sources of material: the livestock belts around Yaoundé, Douala and Bafoussam, the palm groves and oil mills of the Littoral and South-West, the cocoa and coffee basins of the Centre and West, and the cotton and cereal processing areas of the North. They are also developing in emerging agro-industrial hubs.

Your place in the ecosystem

Why your business matters in Cameroon and Central Africa

The growth of intensive livestock farms, palm groves and processing units around Cameroonian cities generates rising volumes of effluents and residues, whose management often remains rudimentary. Waste recovery operators bring concrete answers: soil fertility through compost, decentralised energy through biogas, animal feed from by-products. They help reduce water and soil pollution, lower input costs for producers and strengthen the sustainability credentials that value chains must present to regional and international markets. Their trade is a pillar of the agricultural circular economy in Central Africa and a source of local jobs.

What your directory profile should declare

The headings that project promoters, partners and institutions look at first. Fill them in with your real orders of magnitude: this is what makes your profile usable.

Types of waste and by-products collected and treatedProcesses mastered: composting, anaerobic digestion, drying, feed processingCollection capacity and coverage radius around client sitesRecovered products marketed and quality compliance of those productsEnvironmental permits held for treatment activities
Networking challenges and opportunities
  • Contracting with livestock farms and factories to secure a regular supply of material
  • Gaining recognition for the quality of organic fertilisers and feed produced from recovery
  • Accessing finance for composting and biogas units alongside engineers and lenders
  • Fitting into the sustainability and compliance schemes required by international buyers
Why be listed

What the directory brings to your organisation

Visibility across the value chain

Your listing makes you visible to the livestock farms, oil mills and processing units seeking a compliant solution for their residues.

Access to partnership opportunities

You gain access to circular-economy projects, consulting engineers and lenders looking for an experienced waste recovery operator.

Integration into the regional ecosystem

You become part of the regional ecosystem as a supplier of organic inputs and energy to the actors who produce and process.

Your listing in three steps

The directory is not a mere listing: each profile is positioned within the architecture (sub-domain, actor, value chain), checked by XP-NOVA, then published. You keep control of your profile after publication.

  1. The form

You enter your organisation, your position in the architecture — pre-filled from this page —, your value chains, your area of operation and your contact details. Your profile is created as pending and you receive your access.

  2. Verification by XP-NOVA

The XP-NOVA team reviews your profile: consistency of the position in the architecture, reality of the declared activity, completeness of the information. If there is a reservation, the reason is sent to you and you can complete.

  3. Validation and publication

Once validated, your profile is published in the directory available to members, under your actor code. You update it from your area: contact details, logo, capacities, description.
