Land & GIS

Land developers & operators

You service and develop land intended for farming and livestock, turning raw ground into sites ready to produce and process.

Definition in the architecture : Servicing and development of land for agropastoral use

Land developers & operators
Your activities

What you do

  • Conduct preliminary development studies for agricultural and pastoral land
  • Open access tracks, level ground and prepare soils for future cropping blocks
  • Build irrigation, drainage and water-storage structures
  • Connect sites to water, energy and road networks
  • Deliver serviced lots to farmers, cooperatives and investors
Your role in the value chain

You receive land secured by tenure advisers and mapped by surveyors and GIS firms. You mobilise engineering consultancies, works contractors and equipment suppliers to turn these areas into serviced sites. You deliver ready-to-use land to farmers, herders, cooperatives, processors and agropole managers. You secure the technical feasibility of projects and you unlock the rapid installation of production and processing units, shortening the path from land access to the first harvest and the first export.

Where are you found?

These operators are headquartered in Yaoundé or Douala and work on project sites. Their worksites lie in the irrigation schemes of the North and Far North, the plantation zones of the Littoral, South-West and South, the market-garden basins of the Western Highlands and the pastoral areas of Adamawa.

Your place in the ecosystem

Why your business matters in Cameroon and Central Africa

Access to developed, connected and irrigable land remains one of the main obstacles to agro-industrial investment in Cameroon. Land developers fill this gap by preparing the sites that investors, young farmers and cooperatives cannot service on their own. They make possible the irrigation schemes of the Sudano-Sahelian zone, the plantation blocks of the forest zone and the market-garden basins of the West. In Central Africa, their work drives the shift from scattered farming to organised production hubs able to feed processing plants and export channels, and it supports rural employment around each developed site.

What your directory profile should declare

The headings that project promoters, partners and institutions look at first. Fill them in with your real orders of magnitude: this is what makes your profile usable.

Areas developed and types of development works completedMachinery fleet and in-house or subcontracted works capacitySkills in agricultural hydraulics, tracks and networksRegions and agro-ecological zones of operationReferences of lots delivered to farmers, cooperatives or industrial clients
Networking challenges and opportunities
  • Designing developments suited to the climatic constraints of each agro-ecological zone
  • Partnering with agropole managers and lenders to carry out large-scale programmes
  • Integrating environmental and social requirements from the design stage of each site
  • Offering lots that young farmers and cooperatives can realistically afford
Why be listed

What the directory brings to your organisation

Visibility across the value chain

Your listing makes you visible to investors, cooperatives and industrial players looking for land ready for farming or processing.

Access to partnership opportunities

You gain access to rural development programmes, agropole projects and engineering consultancies seeking works operators.

Integration into the regional ecosystem

You position yourself as a builder of the production hubs that structure the Produce – Process – Export chain in Central Africa.

Join the XP-NOVA directory

Your listing in three steps

The directory is not a mere listing: each profile is positioned within the architecture (sub-domain, actor, value chain), checked by XP-NOVA, then published. You keep control of your profile after publication.

  1. The form

You enter your organisation, your position in the architecture — pre-filled from this page —, your value chains, your area of operation and your contact details. Your profile is created as pending and you receive your access.

  2. Verification by XP-NOVA

The XP-NOVA team reviews your profile: consistency of the position in the architecture, reality of the declared activity, completeness of the information. If there is a reservation, the reason is sent to you and you can complete.

  3. Validation and publication

Once validated, your profile is published in the directory available to members, under your actor code. You update it from your area: contact details, logo, capacities, description.

Surveyors, GIS firms, land advisers, developers: land-tenure security is the first condition of a project’s bankability.

Your day-to-day challenges
  • Scarce titles, customary rights and conflicting uses.
  • Cost of demarcation and procedures.
  • Outdated mapping and cadastre.
What XP-NOVA brings you
  • Land diagnostics built into project framing (need BE08).
  • Plot geolocation required by the EUDR, anticipated in the files.
  • Access to project holders whose project is settled and financed.

You are a partner of the value chain, not a project promoter

Engineering offers are addressed to promoters. Your place is in the actors directory and the partner referencing: that is where promoters find you.
