A research or training institution receives questions from producers, processors and administrations, together with funding from the State and partners. It delivers knowledge, improved varieties, laboratory analyses and qualified graduates. Within the Produce – Process – Export chain, it secures the quality of plant and animal material, unlocks process and preservation innovations, and provides companies with the technical skills required for compliance and competitiveness. It also supplies the evidence base that public policy and investment decisions rely on.

The main campuses and centres are in Yaoundé, Douala, Dschang in the West region, Buea, Bamenda, Ngaoundéré and Maroua. Research stations are spread across the agro-ecological zones: the Western highlands, the forest zone of the South and East, the Sudano-Sahelian zone of the North and the coastal area.
